Despite not being of the opinion that Westbrook is better than Durant, what specifically does Durant's 50/50/90 month in November (where he only played 10 games) suppose to prove that definitively would shift the opinion of those who think Westbrook is better?

Durant - 27 ppg on 17 shots per game (55%), 7 rebounds, 4 assists in November (10 games total)
Westbrook - 26 ppg on 19 shots per game (46%), 7 rebounds, 10 assists in November (16 games total)

Durant - 25 ppg on 17 shots per game (50%), 7 rebounds, 5 assists in December
Westbrook - 24 ppg on 18 shots per game (47%), 6 rebounds, 9 assists in December

Breh they guarded each other most of the game and Kawhi flat out out-played him on both ends. PG is not fukking with him right now.
Yes Kawhi did out-play him on both ends - but he didn't guard him on most of his shot attempts. PG regularly got past him but just couldn't convert for reasons which I've already stated. Kawhi has definitely been the better performer over the past month, but that doesn't make him the better player.

Westbrook turnover the ball too many times. Sometimes he forces bad shots and halt the ball movement. I don't see how pro-Westbrook group thinks Russy is better than Durant when his weakness is a glaring flaw that can be a burden to his team.
:snoop: at you not reading what I posted.

I will play Naismith advocate for a minute. Who would you rather start your franchise with right now? :lupe:

When Timmy, Tony, Manu, call it a career will Kawhi be enough with Aldridge?:lupe:

Consider this also, the Spurs seem to have that magic of staying relevant every season but how much of that is Pop and Buford? :lupe:

:lupe:
The spurs drop off will be disastrous.

You're not serious are you? Have you ever seen PG play?
I've seen him play. Dude is a beast. He's just no KD or seeing present day Kawhi.

He's in the discussion of top 5 SFs. Just not top 3. When he was in the top 3 discussion Melo was still arguably better even tho he was always the better all around player. But Melo has since fallen out of the top 3 and Kawhi snatched the open spot.

Despite him shooting bad this month (partly down to him being ill and his tendency to take bad shots), he's still the better player. He put up 29 ppg/8 rebounds/4 assists in November - Kawhi hasn't even come close to those type of numbers in his career. George has proven to be a #1 option far longer than Kawhi has.

See -
Nope, because those games aren't from four years ago. Nevertheless, why don't we take some of PG's stats from this season?

48 points against Utah
40 points against Washington
39 points against LA
36 points against Miami
34 points against Philly
33 points against Chicago

Games this season where he has scored more than Kawhi's career-high. Too many reactionary posters on this board.
:dwillhuh:

You the homie but this is FACTUALLY wrong. It seems like you don't watch many Pacers games. They're very much comparable defensively. Both stronger at different things on that side of the ball. It's extremely close between the two - which just goes to show how great PG is when he has a far heavier offensive workload.

PG is 8th in the league in isolation field goal attempts (defense) - holding players to 26.5% shooting.
Kawhi is 94th in the league in isolation field goal attempts (defense) - holding players to 33% shooting.

PG is 46th in the league in ball handler field goal attempts (defense) - holding players to 33% shooting.
Kawhi is 39th in the league in ball handler field goal attempts (defense) - holding players to 36% shooting.

PG is 5th in the league in off screen field goal attempts (defense) - holding players to 37% shooting.
Kawhi is 2nd in the league in off screen field goal attempts - holding players to 47% shooting

Now take these numbers with a grain of salt, as you should with every single defensive stat - as context of help defense, defensive scheme, defensive personnel and game situation needs to be applied - but it gives you a general look at their defensive output.

Nah you've got this wrong too. PG is capable of doing A LOT more offensively - it's not particularly close. Only 44% of PG's 26 ppg are assisted and 63% of Kawhi's 21 ppg are assisted, which again is partly down to the Spurs motion offense and all the ball movement that's going on. So while it's probably not a exact reflection of Kawhi's ability to create points for himself - he still isn't asked to create for himself as often as well as dealing with all the defensive attention that PG gets. It's wrong for you to suggest that he can when i) he hasn't proven it yet ii) he doesn't have the ball-handling/driving ability of PG.

Let's not forget to that this is Kawhi's first season as a #1 option - you can't say shyt like there's nothing PG can do that he can't do. His season career-high prior to this season was only 16 ppg, and his career-high in points is 32 - PG has already had half a dozen games THIS season scoring more than that.

Kawhi's most certainly not capable of putting up performances like the above right now. I mean I've seen a lot of defenders this season still give Kawhi a shooting cushion - the same can't be said for PG - not to the same extent anyway. He can create points for himself and for his teammates in ANY situation. Kawhi isn't on that level just yet. Maybe in time when Pop gives him more offensive freedom, but not right now. His ball-handling will need to improve for that to work also.

@AlbertPullhoez @Da King @DonkeyPuncher718 @DrexlersCut @Mephistopheles might want to read this too :mjpls:
