Ye deserved it. The slimiest thing a producer can do is sell a beat to an artist then turn go and sell the beat right after to another artist. That's a "get bust up side your head" offense. He lucky he ain't get that Booghatti treatment.

Yep, it was a dikk move and I'm sure Ye knew the potential consequences.

Trife nikkas who produce and sell the same beat twice, nikka - Nelly "Country Grammer"

Yep! The Jadakiss and Ras Kass situation was actually the first time I heard about double beat selling. I'm glad that ALC and Ras Kass ironed everything out and have gone on to make more good music. It's funny because Priority fukked both of them on that one. Alchemist never got all of the money for the beat, and Priority never was able to get that beat Kass' album (or two others that ALC did that no one ever talks about).

Home Sweet Home cost $7,500. I wonder what Kiss/Ruff Ryders paid for it. Also, Nas passed on that beat too.
:mindblown:

But yeah, now that I really listen to Payroll's lyrics, I definitely think Jay probably heard the entire record.

Also, it wasn't beyond Jay to take an already finished song and remove someone. Obviously, this was done with Royce's consent, but this is the original version of Renegade (also on Blueprint) for anyone that never heard it. All they did was replace Royce's verses with Jay's verses, Em added some more production, and that was it. I don;t think Em even re-recorded his verses, since they just scratched over the part where he said "He's Royce, he's the king of Detroit."

EDIT: It actually does sound like Em re-recorded his verses.

Yea he re-recorded it and thats not actual scratching. Thats him saying "Thats Jigga" then makes scratching sounds so it rhymes.
