Y'all already know how most rappers exaggerate shyt anyways.

But it kinda makes that Kanye "drop you from the team" line directed at Humphries sound dumb as hell.

Was just about to post this. No chance in hell Jay-Z would have any say over player personnel matters.

I call it an even exchange, even if he doesn't own much. Nets benefited from Jay's image for marketing purposes, especially with their move into Brooklyn. Jay gets to further solidify his "I'm not a businessman, I'm a business, man" persona. Everybody wins :manny:

ATL to MEM
Sounds like a good move to me. Hell he gets use of a suite that costs half of what he invested.

yeah its a smart move. He's got a miniscule amount of ownership but the general public thinks he owns like 5% of the team (I know I did before this thread). It boosts his image without him actually having made a huge investment in the team

This.
Actually most people thinks he owns more than 5%.

Before this story you thought he actually had input into personnel decisions?

Jay Z is overrated business wise to me. 50 would've had at least 5% of the Nets.:win: Magic even has around 3% of the Dodgers

Naw, he the exact opposite. Especially on the Nets move. Ratner saw that he could build up the profile and be the face of the Nets and win over the off-branded NY folk to Brooklyn. Hov throws some pocket change in and got back a black unicorn. 40/40 club up in the Barclays arena; yearly access to a luxury suit ($500,000+ per year); #1 Nets owner visibility.

This nikka profiled like he own a major part of the Nets when he owns less than 1%. :ahh:

this is why he comes out a winner on the Nets front.

His profile has risen and the perks alone are worth more than his initial investment.
