This isn't a realistic post and you know it. You don't factor in insurance, permits food and labor and security costs rising. You point on how you went to festival years ago but don't mention how the festival experience growth in popularity. The promoters are their to make money since the cost grew from land owners rising the cost to rent, of course social media plays a big role, its called promoting the acts to get people to show up. I know it's popular to make post with buzzwords like dumb yuppies and stupid millennial to get rep and daps. The festival promoters of course partner with Red Bull and other brands to lower their cost . Those bands weren't showing up to play for free. The people who were hired weren't doing it for the music and love , they were doing it for a check. The promoters ja and the white guy took a bath in loses and tried to recoup by cutting out food and living spaces to turn a profit. Anybody who promotes can say that and the bad weather hurt them the most. Ja was the face, he wasn't playing anybody, he was set up to be the fall guy if the event bombed.
thats why i started with the sentence about renting out a park
festivals are doing WAY too much
this fyre festival was just poorly planned and the promoters were stupid, they'll lose it all
but go to edc, coachella, hard summer, made in america, etc
it's not even fun anymore
fukking way too crowded and half the people there don't even care about the music
look at the line ups of the shows
it's just stupid how many names are on banners
