So, I've re-watched both first seasons of "The Wire" and "Boardwalk Empire."

Just because I can relate to something more doesn't make it better. The Wire is one of the goat tv shows. But Boardwalk is REALLY ill, and if it keeps on that way, it can surpass The Wire.

I definitely already think The Sopranos > The Wire.

None of this is taking away any of the piffery though....Im 30, not too old, but I've lived through ALOT of dope TV shows, and The Wire is still up there, but theres a few shows I think are better.

I get the video game analogy to a degree, cuz boardwalk being set in the 20s results in a slower pace to the show. I've heard niccas call boardwalk 'boring' and I think that's just because of the pacing.

I don't think it has anything to do with the setting, it's just a slow burn.

Mad Men is set in the 50/60 and it's a slow burn.

Breaking Bad is set in present day and some people complain that it's slow or boring until shyt starts blowing up.

BE is great but I think they did it wrong. Luciano, Lansky and Capone could carry this show easily. That scene when Jimmy and Capone found out his son was deaf..:wow:
