So, I've re-watched both first seasons of "The Wire" and "Boardwalk Empire."

On two weeks vacation from work, so i decided to re watch both seasons of "The Wire" and "Boardwalk Empire." And it's not even close. Boardwalk Empire shytS all over season one of the Wire.

"Boardwalk Empire" is a good show, but it's not remotely close to "The Wire", and judging from it's first 2 seasons, most likely never will be.

I like boardwalk a lot, but it's not even better than the two arguably weakest seasons the wire had season 2 and 5. which is another argument all in its self cause i love the dry/dark humor of season 2 Bunk and Lester had so many quotable's peep this gem

Actually they're quite similar. Both are shows dealing with illegal drug use that displays the perspective of both the criminals and prosecutors. Only small difference is one is set in 50's.

show is set in the 1920' and the big difference is the lack of black people.

The fact that you think it's in the 50's makes me question whether you even understood the show. Being a timepiece, understanding its setting has a lot to do with the whole appeal of the show.
