Gym membership with 24 hour access > $50 a month (for showers and a place to hang out to meet people)
Storage Unit (10x15 or bigger that a car can fit in, includes electric outlet) > $125 (keep your belongings safe / sleep / charge up stuff)
Metropcs phone with 4g > $50 (internet)
Gas - $75
Food - EBT = $200 for single adults FREE not counted in total

Total to Rough it.. $300 a month

Get on your grind and bounce back. Can cop a ounce of dro for $200-300, and sell it for $15-20 a gram if you hustle right. (But you said you working legit though). Meet chicks ASAP and they will help you move up, females love project nikkas. Better to tell them you in a relationship, so they can't come to your spot and you can be mysterious.

Get right with Jah.... pray. You still in a decent country where you can make it from the bottom.

interesting :dwillhuh:

you can literally chill at a storage unit all day and have no one bother but to have a unit that can fit a car is like having a fukking apartment. Go in that bytch, close the gate and sleep for like 3 hours

here in NY, there are storage buildings in posh areas like Chelsea where homeless people get units and literally live in there and the residents of the area HATE that shyt bcause they are paying $3000+ a month for rent or have these million dollar apartments. The feel like the homeless bring the whole vibe down, which is kinda true I guess. But it beats paying rent and even now in the hood in NY, getting a new apartment (not some shyt passed down by your family) is like $900-1000 bucks.

when i used to live in LA I slept in my car a few times because i was between places and couldnt really stay with my uncles even tho they had houses with more than enough room. After work, I'd park in a Dennys parking lot and there were like 8-9 other cars out there with people doing the same shyt, sleeping. So I kinda felt safe. A couple of times, I'd park on a desolate street in a really nice tree lined neighborhood in Santa Monica. The only thing that sucked was that even tho it could be late summer/fall in the LA area, staying by the beach gets fukking COLD at night. I'd have to turn on the engine here at there just get the heat going.

the times i'd want to sleep in an actual bed, I paid 20 bucks to crash at a hostel, which is cool, but you dont want your $$$ running out too fast staying there every night. But it was good to go there, shower, sleep and be around some cool ass people who didn't really have much $$$ but were out in LA trying to figure out the next chapter of their lives. shyt, I was one of them even tho I had a steady job, making OK money and I had a car to take me places.

either way, it was an experience. wish i could do that now with the $$$ i make these days (I'm not BALLLLLLLIN) because it would be amazing to flat out stack like $15-20K in one year and not have to worry about rent, cable, heat/light, bytches. With the way my work situation is, I have a private gym for $7 a week and the shyt is plush. Clean shower, excellent workout equipment, free towels, blow dryers, shaving stuff, toiletries, electronic lockers. My building is open every day of the year 24/7 because of the nature of the business I'm in so you wouldnt look crazy coming up in there at 5am because people are working on some random floor. I'd even be able to stash clothes in my desk and lock it with a key. And since its NY you wont run out of places to chill to pass the time by.

fukk. i could actually do this :win:

I could make it homeless, after my divorce... me being an immigrant, I came up with TONS of escape plans. Thankfully never needed to put in use for more than 2 weeks between when I left my home, and that next paycheck where I got my apartment (end of 2009)

and with dating sites on your phone. He could just sit on youtube, coli, pof, okcupid, datehookup, and chill in the storage unit. Get in shape at gym. Eat right for less, fruits etc (buy nonspoilable shyt with the EBT, capri suns, drinks, hot food is hardest)

Cheap date do the Eddie Murphy take her for coffee.. then be like I have to head to work.

Just be mysterious until you back on solid

Wasn’t intentionally trying to drudge up your past but another poster asked about any other “survival” type threads and this was the one I remembered the most so I bumped it for him.

Glad you’re on your feet and good. What really turned the tide for you?

Actually it was your best point because you know how to survive for real.
While everyone else is soft as fukk.
I would never trade away when I was fukked up.
I got to much game and a plethora of skills from the shyt.
Plus, it was another death star in my life and it actually helped on a level nuffin ever will come close to.

I would not trade the experience cause it solidified I factually was a great person and most importantly a survivor.

Only the real really make it.

Brehs in here explaining step by step to an adult how to turn a paying job into a place to stay.

Fun - ny

I'm just gonna make up a number. $300 per month. I an thinking you can pay $300 somewhere to sleep in a bed. Like one room of a larger rooming house or a roomate thing. A super greasy hotel (sounds too low for a hotel)?

So thats $10 a day.

See if you are spending $10 on some extra bullshyt. Fast food and snacks prolly run you $20. Use ramen and lunch meat to bring your spend down to $5 per day.

If you drink, smoke cigs, weed, pills.. just totally quit for the moment.

Extra driving cause you're bored. Go for a walk instead.

So Brehs have internet and gym memberships but not beds.. I am on the fence here but I would lean toward getting the bed first. Like even turn the phone off or get a joint that's literally just a flip phone for making calls that was dirt cheap. I guess you need showers. But that's part of the whole 'put the money toward a place to stay' theory. Bed and shower in the spot you're tryna find the $10 a day for.

The fact that you're contemplating suicide is a bad sign. Suicide is never the way to go so even asking yourself these questions means you're not thinking right.

There is joy here. There's alot of bullshyt here but there's joy. Just look for that. Spot a cool looking bird and just watch him work for a few. Talk to an old person. Like, really talk to them. Create some art.

Build. Make you a spot for yourself that no one can move you from. Put all the shyt you like in your spot. Whatever. You get to decide your 'purpose', but then you gotta get up and go. Do dat shyt.

i had to get on grind mode and hustle HARD, i was at the library everyday taking any gig i could off Craigslist even if it was just a short term 1 or 2 week gig

eventually stacked enough dough to pay a co-worker to let me stay with em for a few weeks then i dipped out back to hometown a month after that

in retrospect i'm glad this was in Cali cause the weather made it so it was not so bad, if this was in a state where its cold as fukk i would not have made it
