Tobey was cool, Dunst was OK. But they were lacking on-screen chemistry.

But so is Bale and his love interests, which were a major part of his movies. He wanted to give up being Batman because of her. Now that I think about it, aside from Reeves and Margot Kidder and Keaton and Kim Basinger & Michelle Pfeifer, none of the superheroes had chemistry with their female leads.
seriously? is that what you're looking for when you're watching comic book characters? how much chemistry they have in their love stories?

i can't believe some of you phaggots

No Whammies!!
"Unbreakable" needs to be on this list somewhere. I would personally put it over any of the Superman movies.

The only superhero movie I can say I enjoyed more would be Blade 1/2 (have to include them both)

Tobey McGuire's Spider-Man 2 is also worth a Mention in this Thread. Such a Great Sequel to a Great Origin Movie for Peter Parker. Otto Gunther Octavius was a Phenomenal Villian.

Fukk that. The mark of a good movie is how much I'm invested in the characters and how I much I care about what happens to them.

If their relationships aren't convincing, it's hard to invest and easy to lose interest. Any storyteller worth their salt could tell you that. But simpletons like you just want explosions and fight scenes. Fukk outta here. :camby:

I tried not to get involved in this thread until plans come to fruition next year...in january.. but I gotta rep and dap you on that. Any screen writer, storyteller of any kind will tell you that if you aren't invested in what happens to the characters then nothing else matters. It may as well be white noise.

I know this isn't popular, but I rank Spiderman II over The Dark Knight.

I loved The Dark Knight, but for me, Spiderman II remains a perfect superhero flick.

Top 8 List

2. The Dark Knight
3. Captain America: The Winter Solider
4. Superman (1978) :mjpls:
5. Batman (1989)
6. Guardians of the Galaxy
7. Thor :smugfavre:
8. Batman Returns (1992) :manny:
9. Batman Begins
10. The Avengers

HM: Spawn, Blade I, and X-Men (2000)
