Akiras manga is one of the greatest ever. The movie is nothing in comparison but still one of the best movies.
With that said, these movies are all better than Mononoke

just got finished watching it
great movie dub was very well done and I especially liked the interaction between the spirits. they weren't all on the same page and I think thats more realistic then them being all kumbaya and banded together

Aight, the story and characters are basic (imagine F-Zero: The Motion Picture) but just talking animation this is the GOAT. Took 9 years to make and to my knowledge every cell was composed by hand (none of that digital 3D model manipulation nonsense). It's not deep but it is a ridiculously fun throwback to 80s action manga
S/o to Satoshi Kon films as well
I've never seen Mononoke, usually I don't have the patience for Miyazaki but if y'all are saying this is pretty dark I might have to cop it

I haven't watched redline yet, have it downloaded though, that animation is fukking wild.

Princess Mononoke caught me off guard. I wasn't expecting all that violence. I used to see posters of this all over the net but never checked it out until one day it came on starz. Main dude shot some guy's arm off and I was just like wtf! I was glued to the TV then. Goat anime movie.
One of the best anime's ive ever seen... the american version musically far superior than the japanese version

I watched Ninja Scroll and Princess Mononoke back to back yesterday morning.
They're both good flicks but Ninja Scroll is definitely superior imo. I also like Perfect Blue, Ghost in the Shell, and the Cowboy Bebop movie better than Princess Mononoke.
