If there's a lecture on campus, it's free, if the class has a video link, it's free, if you want to meet with the professor afterwards, it's free.

The company I work for pays for me and a few other managers to attend chemical engineering conferences and they up in the money, the cheapest ones are held by the ACS. Ummm they are longer than 3 day's and you do not attend all 45 sessions lol....you pick and choose which session or sessions you would like to attend. I went to one NACE conference and I only attended 3 sessions in one day and the extra 3 days I had, I went sightseeing/club hopping and I slept a lot.
