I was just saying in the Random Thoughts thread tonight the problem is Porter. For what he's paid they need a more consistently impactful player that could carry things when Jokic is out the game and Murray is struggling or not playing. This is also why I laughed at all the analysts saying that the Nuggets were guaranteed at least a couple more titles and about to go on a legendary run. We all know Jokic is the man, but I just didn't see any way that Murray would keep up that level of play and never believed in Porter. Once they started letting crucial role players go Murray/Porter would not be enough to keep them as contenders.

Murray's contract cannot be traded. Nobody is going to take that salary on for a guy who will never be an All-Star. That was an outrageous extension the second it was signed. Booth lost his fukking mind giving him that contract. They couldn't even get Bradley Beal for Murray.

Booth is trying to push for a youth movement during Jokic’s prime which is the problem. He didn’t want to trade the young guys to get veterans for now. They have needed a back up 5 for a while and yeah his pick tore his Achilles in the summer league but he decided to bring in Saric who wasn’t it during his run with the warriors.
