Are you saying you wanted race programs with the Rock? He was way above all of that by 2000:laugh:
My point is, Rock is only half black and they didn't put the belt on him until he was must see mainstream TV. And they tried their best to not acknowledge him as a "black" man when they had that casual crowd.

They chose to bring out his Samoan mother and cuz Rikishi instead :mjpls:

Yet in the modern era, guys like Seth Rollins who aren't ready can wear Vince's belt just because HHH likes him. New Day was #1 in merch at the biggest event of the year and none of the three are eligible for MITB????

TSC is really the only real safe haven for us message board wise. I check other Hip-Hop forums and sometimes they don't even have a wrestling subsection just one thread for all wrestling news and maybe some live RAW messages.

Twitter's a bit different. I follow a few black journalists like who happen to be wrestling fans and they make watching RAW easy along with TSC.

I was on a site trying to make a point about how i hope The New Era gives a shot towards black wrestlers like Jason Jordan, Rich Swann, Moose, Apollo Crews. I said atleast one of these guys should be WWE Champion (not World Champion) in the next 5 years.

I feel you. And I'd like to see a black champion bit I don't see any of those guys as champion material imo. Moose has potential to be Wwe champ if he gets the right push and he continues to get better. Rich Swann maybe like US champ or cruiser weight if the make a new belt. Apollo Crews I think will be US or Intercontinental champ at some point.

I could see Moose or Jay Lethal being NXT champion.

Best bet for a black champ. Either Big E or Kofi SHOULD win one. Especially with New Day being hot as they are. Kofi realy deserves it. Hes had such a long great career, and seems like a great guy.

Kofi hasn't had a GREAT career..coasted for years really but he can probably ride this to SOMETHING significant I suppose.

Yeah 90% of Kofi's career has been completely unmemorable mid card work going nowhere with one or two big spots per year that all blend together.

They acknowledged him as Black all the time when he first came up..he had a storyline with his father at WM 13. LOL@only half black...you hate half Blacks or something, kid? He was must SEE back in 1998 during his second year. He won the BELT the same year Austin and Goldberg won theirs. What in the world are you talking about? LOL

Ok it hasn't been great, that was a bad choice of words lol. It's been good. And he's always worked hard, and not bytched about it as far as I know.

winning WWE champ would be a nice exclamation point to his career, and would be well deserved imo. Even if it's only a short run.

Rock's career in terms of his racial portrayal is so weird. Debuted as like Samoan as can be, then they focused specifically on his black father for a few months, then he joined a black pride stable, then he took off and they basically never brought up his heritage again.

Shouldn't of been brought up in the first place considering how talented he was. But that was just proof of how stunted booking was..even back then. Had the Rock not wanted to be better than everyone else, he wouldn't be what he is today. He would be...Damien Sandow or somebody.

Why the fukk you go on wrestlingforum and Reddit's neckbeard central wrestling site in the first place? TSC is literally the only place I discuss wrestling online because, as much as there are some fukking bizarre people in here, the agendas are far less insidious than elsewhere and it's just fun.
Real talk. Even though there are some crazy folks here TSC is a good place to discuss wrestling and is one of the better forums on the coli. Especially over The Locker Room (TLR).
