There has always been gay artists, but I think a lot of the controversy will come from the male to male lyrics, which is unprecedented. Gay artists made music for a majority heterosexual fanbase. This might not go over well musically. I have nothing against gays and I applaud him for his honesty, but I can't listen to a song where he's talking doing something to another man or his feelings for another man. If he would have kept his lyrics more relatable, then I'd rock with him. I'll give it a listen tho... the references may be exaggerated.
