You're acting like it's struggling at 4k/60+ when it's not so no matter how elaborate you say it? You can't trump it when better is available already

Internal res is 1440p. Only the output size of the frame is 4K, cause of upscaling from the lowered base resolution. And you could more than likely get an image just as clean (and cheaper in terms of resource cost) with a 1080p base since it cleanly divides with 2160 - on top of better performance.

If the output frame size is all it takes to say "it's 4K!!" then 4K was achieved long ago with the PS4 Pro and One S just upscaling the frame to 4K. :dead:

I don't think going down from 1440 to 1080 = 60fps. For most games sure but this game is special and I'm already getting 4k/60+ as is so you think lowering would make 60 a reality even tho it already is. What I'm saying to you friend is they'll have it 4k/120 before years end with no hiccups. And it's running smooth, when my sticks get here tomorrow I'll let you know exactly how smooth it is on the series x :win:

The case here is nearly a given that would happen, especially since they're upscaling and not true 4K. They could jump to 60fps and have better motion with 120hz VRR, but they strangely don't.
