I like J. Cole -- and even copped his debut album and it's pretty cool -- but he is nowhere near where KRIT is right now. Not even close. I will say Cole has the potential if he can expand his production game more consistently, but right now KRIT's a slightly better rapper (IMO) but a better producer tenfold.

Exactly.

People really need to stop gassin' Krit like he's lyrically dope or some shyt. Cole has no personality, but the dude can rhyme. Krit's "regular guy" image is just as dry, if not worst. Only online do you hear people actin' like the homie is spectacular. Like someone else in this thread said, online people dig him, but in the real world he's done nothing.

Stupid people. Stupid posts. Stupid section.

What does "doing nothing in the real world" mean? We're talking about the quality of music - not sales or popularity.

And the notion that J.Cole is on a different level than Krit lyrically is laughable. Let's be real. Neither are lyrical wordsmiths(I give the edge to Krit) but they both can rhyme at an above average level and have strong subject material and relatability. What sets Krit apart from Cole is Krits production and overall song quality are vastly superior.

Lastly, the "only online people like him" thing is stupid. You all should stop using it. Whether your friends listen to him, whether you see him on commercials(Crown Royal), or whether your nosy ass hears him on the speakers of the car you're driving next to is irrelevant to the conversation of why he's a better artist than J.Cole.

Last year at Santos in NYC, Krit performed with DZA and Troy Ave. Krit walked up on stage and said "I know I got my internet family in here, y'all keep me in business. Y'all hold me down". I've deejayed for Score More shows. They book Krit all the time. The people that come to these shows are online fans, forum jumpers. That's his bread and butter. He knows it, so there's definitely nothing wrong with people repeating that notion.

If you're saying there's nothing wrong with him having a strong online fanbase then why bring up "only online nikkas like him" like it really matters? That doesn't take away from him as an artist. If anything it adds to him. The machine is what makes someone a star on TV, radio, etc. Talent is only part of the ingredient, and sometimes it's not a factor at all - hence 2 Chainz and Trinidad James :sadbron:

i like KRIT but come on..more lyrical than J Cole?

:comeon:

Post J.Cole lyrics that have blown you away to the point where you really say he's ahead of Krit with the pen please. I'll look over it tomorrow.

It clearly "matters" to him. So why can't we say that? If he can admit that online support is how he eats, then what's wrong with us stating that?

Why do you say it clearly matters to him? Perhaps he's content with current level of fame and the ability to tour and make money. Maybe being on billboards, all over the radio with songs featuring 2 Chainz and at the BET Awards doesn't matter to him breh.

If he thanks a crowd, which he has done plenty of times, and says that these are his "internet family", it matters to him. I'm not going to guess what he's content with and all that. But if he can thank a certain demographic and credit it with being his support system, which he did on RapFix too, why can't we repeat the notion? Sales and Billboard haven't mentioned by me once. So I don't get why you brought that up.
