No one was checkin for Warren G, at least not in Philly. No one in my high school had Regulate, and no one talked about it anywhere around the city. In fact, he was viewed as kinda weak. How about saying Regulate did wonders for the Above the Rim soundtrack and Interscope?

because he sold like 4 millie on def jam. not interscope. and he did it at a time when def jam was at their absolute low point financially and nobody was going platinum. theres nothing to argue here. just say you not feeling dude.

Funny dre will say that to Warren all while keeping Snoop and Nate, and to think none of em would have been there had it not been for Warren.

I don't know why Dre hated on warren g so much, was some real bullshyt

I think he felt threatened because warren g at that time was producing nothing but heat and snoop and Nate were loyal to warren

Snoop has more to do with it than dre in a sense, because warren was already put out to the public on the nikkaz4life 1900-2-compton skit, yeah he didnt rap or produce nothing, but people dont realize you heard him before you heard snoop.

Snoop and warren was broke and everything together, snoopget his foot in the door, dre leave and you dont call warren to help you on your next projects production wise?, than 213 finally drop a album he cant touch none of the beats?

couple of songs here there cool, but he never got to produce songs for snoop, like it was suppose to happen, he rather get pharrell, meech and other cats.

Nate was way more loyal to warren than snoop was

That's true, no warren G beats on the 213 album still upsets me

A true 213 album is snoop the rapper, Nate the singer, warren the producer

I always thought that was a bytch move, to think snoop would give production credit to quik a gang rival vs the nikka he grew up with.

You can tell warren is hurt in alot of songs, dre and warren step brothers so they relationship gone be different, but him and snoop, you will hear snoop name in 89% of warren's 1st 2 albums.

Warren did say he wanted Snoop on his debut album but label politics wouldn't let it happen and was only able to get Nate

The album went triple platinum... and is credited to bringing back Def Jam no artist on Def Jam was moving units.. And if I remember correctly Warren G going plat opened the door for Montell Jordan.. :comeon: lets be honest here. The G Funk sound saved an east coast label. :takedat:

this is exactly why they don't stress the importance of that warren g album and conveniently let his page fall out of the history books.

if warren g was from Brooklyn or something, we wouldn't hear the end of this. warren saving def jam would get shoved down our throats constantly.

Some of y'all don't understand simple economics... Just because LL and Red and Meth and etc went Gold and plat it means nothing if you spent more than that in the year. Def jam was in the RED .. those albums just recoup some... Warren's regulate sold enough that it did way more than recoup it brought them into the Black .... They were in the black enough where they can spend and still have money.

And that redman and method man albums dropped in October.. because i remember them pushing the month of the man campaine ... and that was AFTER regulate...

Let's put it this way ... Warren G saved Def Jam while Red and Meth helped it stay afloat.. (does that statement please both sides)

This is similair to how a movie can make 200million and still be called a flop.... thats because it cost 250 million to make and market.
