Comicbook companies do it constantly. Once a character starts getting buzz the other company will come out with someone similar. Marvel had dozens of fake Batmen and Supermen. DC keeps trying to make their own Fantastic 4, Spiderman and X-Men

Over in Deathstroke the Lion is a heartless b*stard who makes Slade look kind, his country is in a state of war but he still swags around, last issue he just chilled on a couch while his scantily clad women brought him drinks. I see this as Priest telling Coates" hey, you're not writing Panther, you're writing this guy and not even writing this guy properly".

So he's not even a king anymore? Last I read they were changing the form of government from a monarchy to something of a democracy. He was even being shamed by the spirits of his predecessors.
T'challa is the intellectual peer of Reed Richards and Victor Von Doom, clearly Coates forgot all about that. He acted mad dumb.
He's a king, normally BP should have absolutely crushed that rebellion.

The man has contingency plans for Galactus but apparently can't stop his harem getting uppity.

T'Challa is still King in Coates run. The big "change" that Coates brought about was a tribal council.... That already existed in previous runs.


In that world of Wakanda book you find out the Dora Milaje never even tried to tell T'Challa about the one chief abusing women. They were just mad at T'Challa because he was the easiest person to blame.

-T'Challa being disowned by his predecessors happened in a previous story line written by Hickman, not Coates. Coates actually has T'Challa and the previous Panthers talking again.
