Gun ownership is not an issue, murder and armed robbery are. If someone wants to commit suicide, that's their business. Owning a handgun harms no one. Criminalizing ownership of an object because of how one might use it is unethical and authoritarian.

Black men need to stop shooting each other. The leading cause of death among young Black men is homicide. That's not a gun issue, that's a cultural issue. No one shoots each other like we do.

Ownership is the issue.

Negligent storage meaning your ownership should be revoked from owning guns but we are so awashed in guns you really can’t stop people from getting their hands on it.

So basically the way to keep the masses safe is to keep the amount of guns and access as limited as possible.

Fertilizer is way more dangerous but we make sure access to it is limited to those who actually need it.



Stop manufacturing guns for mass sale.

So if people need a gun to hunt, trade in your old one and get a new one. Need a new gun for self protection. Same deal.

Lol. No, it's completely true. Prohibition is unethical and ineffective. Handgun bans like the ones in Chicago and DC did little to stop black markets (in 4 muh VA and IN, importation was illegal as well). Buying a gun on the black market for nefarious purposes won't be stopped by this law. However, a person who wants to gift a hierloom pistol to their kid will no longer be able to.

You still haven't addressed the ethics of banning handguns from those who have committed no crime.

Poverty is a factor in crime, I never said it wasn't. The fact remains that over half of homicide victims in the US are Black. This shouod be addressed before we start curtailing people's rights.
