No, but made up bullshyt certainly does. Your claim is completely without merit and invalidated by the experiences of every developed nation that has the rule of law.
Lol. No, it's completely true. Prohibition is unethical and ineffective. Handgun bans like the ones in Chicago and DC did little to stop black markets (in 4 muh VA and IN, importation was illegal as well). Buying a gun on the black market for nefarious purposes won't be stopped by this law. However, a person who wants to gift a hierloom pistol to their kid will no longer be able to.

You're a die hard gun gun controller, so I have no interest in going back and forth with you on this again.
:skip:I don't understand why we have theft laws. Bad people will just steal anyways and good people won't. Theft has been around since the dawn of time, it ain't going no where.
Absurd argument. Theft directly injures another party. Buying a handgun does not. Also, theft has never been legal.

LOL - not a surprise you completely ignored what I said. Cities don't guard their borders, when a city like Chicigo or DC has gun shops from far less restrictive states set up damn near right on the city boundary, of course they're going to have a hard time regulating. It's embarassing that right-wingers on this issue have to constantly lean on "But Chicago and DC!" as the big exceptions while ignoring that for virtually every country, state, and city in the world with the rule of law, their "Prohibition doesn't work!" claim is proven false.

I'll ask you again - why is it that in every country with the rule of law, stricker gun laws result in less gun crime? Even in the USA, states with higher gun control tend to have far fewer gun deaths, other factors aside. Why is that? Why do you think New York City has such a miniscule homicide rate compared to other big cities? Why do California cities tend to have far less homicide and gun crime than cities in the South and Midwest?

Buying a gun on the black market for nefarious purposes won't be stopped by this law.

It will substantially impact how many guns can be moved onto the Black market, since most of those guns are legally bought first. Every country has a Black market in guns, but in countries like the USA where legal guns are easy to buy, the Black market is MUCH larger and easiesr to access than it is in heavy gun-control countries like UK and Japan. In fact, even other nation's Black markets are heavily fueled by "legally" bought American guns. Why is that? Funny how that's the opposite of what people like you would claim about how black markets work.

Not sure how I feel about this as a career martial artist for 2 decades. I think gun laws need to be much stricter, but the best means of self defense for most people is a firearm. Unless people want to dedicate their lives to combat sports and martial arts (and even then things can go very bad), there's not a much better tool for self defense than a gun.

I think self defense is a human right, and I think if people go through legitimate training and serious mental health evaluations and background checks--that they should be able to own a handgun to protect themselves.

Keeping my overhead low, and my understand high

All sales, imports, and transfers have been outlawed. Wow
:ehh:

Easy enough to do...we'd need a Constitutional amendment to do that Nationally, though.

But a ban is sumple. No one has to come get your guns from you, over time, the guns will just disappear

More countries should follow through on this
So, only the elite are entitled to armed defense? State agents and criminals are the only ones equipped with handguns?
I can't believe there are Black people out there for prohibition of arms, given how it was used historically to disarm us. The white supremacist militias, police, politicians, and street nikkas aren't giving up their weapons.
