So can we agree that Mass Effect 2 was the best in the series?

They all have their hits/misses, so I just treat them all the same. The ending to 3 didn't really bother me, though exploring every nook and cranny from ME1 up to that point probably had me :deadrose: by then.

One of a few games I've ever taken a chance on and actually enjoyed...:myman:

the story in part 1 was epic, everything from the start at the citadel to the final showdown against the reaper was incredible, part 2 had superior gameplay but for some reason part 1 had ALOT of material and missions, my only issue is that the gameplay in part 2 was a major upgrade, but i enjoyed 3 to some extent but part 1 was just epic.

ME2 ruined the entire lore of the universe and the story seemed like it was written by a PR team as opposed to creative people that cared about making art. The "resurrection" plot device was not only stupid, but they didn't even DO anything interesting with it. The dude dies, comes back to life...and doesn't have anything poignant to say about it the entire game. Pointless. They couldn't find a better way for him to work with cerberus (Which is dumb in and of itself).

The whole "suicide mission" thing reeks of pr-driven, ad-focused, trailer-tailored plotting.

I have to reiterate, Mass Effect 1 is the superior game. The improved gameplay in ME2 does not even come close to putting it in the realm of the original ME. I had so much anticipation for ME2, because Mass Effect was simply mesmerizing. Nothing is fukking with its storyline. ME2 was much less story-driven, and, as a result, I was nowhere near as absorbed by it. However, I was still anticipating ME3.

My brother got it for me on the release date (and I got it for him as well), but I didn't even get around to playing it until around 2 months later, because I had yet to beat ME2 for a second time with the career I wanted to import. I just couldn't get into it.

With Mass Effect, I still want to play it. Bioware and EA fukked up something that could have been beautiful.

You gotta remember its a trilogy and ME2 is basically just moving the story along for the reaper invasion. Which is why it's more character focused than overall story driven. It's no longer just about Shepard. The suicide mission is basically testing Shepard and building up his character for the upcoming apocalypse.

With that said the reason for me why ME1 takes a backseat to ME2 is cuz of the Mako and shytty layouts. The Mako was a nightmare. Damn near every building layout is the same. The Citadel is fukking huge and all you do is backtrack all the time there for stupid shyt. I'm not even gonna get into all the bugs and glitches where I had to constantly reload saves cuz Shepard got stuck in a wall or something. Technically the shyt was horrible.

ME1 was the perfect combo: dope gameplay at the time, dope story, dope graphics at the time etc.

ME2 improved on some points but not all: doper gameplay, doper graphics (Miranda: :takedat: ) but the shoe-horning in of Cerberus was a bit :troll:

ME3: dopest gameplay, dopest graphics ( Miranda and the reporter :takedat: ) but that ending

2 was the best to me, followed by 3. My least favorite was 1.
