Why you think white people hate us being stable in any manner.
You little nikkaz did not get to play outside for a real reason.
Plus all rational moral hope went out the windows from this era.

The project down the block was always about the same as it is now. Somewhat run down.
But I would say it was heaven on earth before crack.
We literally used to hit strangers up kinda like gang bangers do "Hey where you from"
But this was the height of B Boying and we would battle them. Break dancing, rapping, and later regular non break dancing. That's how I met my first rap partner. They walked thru the project and we challenged them to a battle.

If anything you might get a busted lip. But if some shyt did pop off, the two dudes would run the fair one and even the homies on both sides would respect it. Once one dude got the better of the other it got broke up and you most likely ended up drinking a 40 with the guy you fought.
I was young but old enough to chase tail. Just walking thru the hood sometimes you'd bump into a hoodrat who's mom wasn't home or was willing to sneak up to my room.
Those were the fukcing days.
