Extortion gonna come from the next dude having something over you. Whether it be manpower, firepower, money, political/social influence, physical strength or knowing something he shouldnt.

Ultimately you gonna have to decide if the fight worth the losses you're gonna incur. How much damage can you take, how much damage can you dish out and how strong is your will compared to that of the other dude. Concentrate on getting your bread right, treating your people properly and testing their loyalty along the way. Good start.

HOW TO NOT GET EXTORTED

Be the most unpredictable person. Meaning throw a party one day, then get on a plane with a suitcase full of sand to go to overseas.

Do scandalous things, include new scandalous people in your circle. Introduce them all to each other and then play favorites to get them to go at each other while you fall back. Start a beef with an outside group of extorts and refer them to your guys you make protection payments to.

Document everything, for example showing up to your extorts hood unannounced with a news crew while you donate to a local charity with the money you were supposed to pay them. Pose for photo ops and include their names with the efforts.

Commit a crime and bring the evidence to them. If they shy away, you get arrested, if they rat you out, they don't get paid, if they help you, now they are your accomplice.
Make obscene demands of your extorts to satisfy your needs and give them evidence they think they can use against you...

Online exposure, welcome them to release any information they wish as long as they properly credit you in the photos etc. Trademark the exposure and profit from it, then use those rights to make all entities cease and desist. If media continues to broadcast the exposure, they have to pay you for it in damages. You can only be exposed one time, after that what is the point of paying them anymore?

that's how it happens... how to avoid it. avoid them. be prepared for people to say "he aint' real, he don't come back, he scared, he can't come home" but also be prepared to not be extorted.. cause everywhere you go, there's 5 big ass dudes right there with you at all times... then you get the "he got security, he a bytch" label. so its all in what you want your image to say about you

You gotta ask yourself wether he should have taken that loss though as he may have been better off if he signed the deal.

It's the same situation that every rapper goes through all the time. Are you better to pay for security or a hood nikka for protection. One way or another you got to pay someone though or you will get eaten alive out here.
