Trump's been trying to run since 2000 but didn't have the support. When he saw Obama win in 08 his racism made him switch parties and start the birther movement which got him more support. Trump was still largely not taken serious as he paid actors to be at many of his early political appearances (GOOGLE IT) but we all know how that story ended.
