Learn to play the piano as the next step towards sound design.....manipulating synth presets is cool but i want to take a step closer to creating sounds from scratch.

try to recreate my sound with no samples, also get better at mixing in general. I want to work with an artist to craft a particular stylistic sound as well. Grow together. got to find the right mind tho

if i were u id pick up alchemy the vst, easily the best synth for programming from scratch maybe the best synth period, also mess with filters & envelopes together, i didnt realize it but lots of synth sounds are made just with filter modulation

edit:gladiator is 2nd for programming, sylenth is good too but gladiator has wicked waveforms and effects, plus it naturally sounds great

To make my first beat. I'm not even interested in beatmaking. As for as creative ventures I'm just interested in the writing and visual imagery that goes along with it all (videos, promotional marketing, etc.), but I figured I'd at least try to make a decent beat.

2 beats a day.
That's tough.

For me, though, shoot, I dunno. Just continue progressing (all that cliché sh*t) but for real. I can't be making resolutions on some, "Oh, I wanna get three major placements" or "get this rapper on my beat." It don't work that way, you know? I got no control over anyone but myself. So, it's more healthy, in my humble, to make goals that I, myself, can achieve without the assistance of others.

*end rant*

this is pretty doable tbh, personally since i started making lots of beats ive stopped sampling as much because its easier to make non-sample beats quickly. Ive spent as much time finding/chopping/thinking about how im going to use the sample as its taken me to essentially finish a beat w/o sampling
