20 year anniversary of wacky d being a college hoops fan....technically 21 years, but the '92-93 season is when i really started to follow.
its like deja vu. i feel like im in 3rd grade again.
michigan is #1 in the country for the 1st time in 20 years.
the fab five
and to top it off, indiana and ohio st are just as good.
its like the old big ten all over again. takes you back to when bobby knight had calbert cheaney, damon bailey & them. and ohio st was BALLIN wit jim jackson & lawrence funderburke catchin wreck. all we need now is the big dog glen robinson at purdue........but wait, we got glen robinson jr at michigan
speaking of michigan, steve fisher got the bomb squad(yes, i said "the bomb". im in retro mode) out in san diego st. and also in the mountain west, UNLV is ballin like its the early '90s again.....somewhat.
kansas in the mix to make the final 4.
shout-out to rex walters & adonis jordan.
cinncinnatti thuggin it up and could easily go on another final four/elite eight run.
takes you back to the days when you thought bob huggins recruited dudes fresh off the streets. speaking of him, these west virginia teams are finally beginning to look rather rough.
duke is still duke
kentucky & north caolina is still kentucky & north carolina even tho their current squad's ears got that wet-wet.
syracuse is still syracuse
the atlantic 10 is prolly the best its been since the early '90s when umass & temple had those crazy squads.
pac-10 starting to catch wreck again. im still not sold on them being the best conference out west right now. mountain west still holding that crown - 3 years running.
we just need memphis to step back up to the plate. remember they was the team in the old metro conference? and cinncinnati was bossin up in the great midwest.
speaking of which, i remember my mom used to hype up the tulane squad that year. i never saw em play and dont know anything about the except the fact that my mom thought that squad was ill. either they were an under-the-radar team or they were blackleticism at its finest but under-achieved in the win column.
