1st thing is if someone was paid to ghostwrite then Dream Hampton and that person can be sued.

2nd thing, Dream Hampton brought this up to try and defend Jay-Z

3rd thing why would he need ghostwriters when that album was pretty wack(to me at least)

:childplease: just because Jay Elec had writin credits on Untitled doesn't mean anything.

So kanye ghostswrites for jay, cuz he has writing credits on the songs he produced too

I believe a lot of producers also write the hooks to songs now or have some sort of initial track that's laid to the beat. The artist usually takes this track as a framework for his own sometimes leaving in certain parts, hooks, certain bars, etc.

here, the producer can get a writing credit too and possibly a piece of the publishing that goes to the artist in addition to the part that goes to the producer

I do.

However, I think when facts come to light, the statement will have been greatly overextended to where Nas & Stic collaborating on song concepts and where to insert hooks/bridges etc does not exactly equate to ghostwriter the way the blog writer from RIK is trying to make it seem. If you understand how music goes on in professional studio settings, then maybe you see where I'm coming from.

she herself said MAJORITY of the album. as in Nas wrote less than half of an album that nikkas claim is in the top 3-5 in his catalog.

yeah but the burden is on her to prove that.

She said it defensively to someone who asked Jay to make an album of that caliber so of course the possibility of it being overstated is there.

The guy who wrote this blog sounds too much like the prototypical nas hater for me to take him too seriously..

Yup. All the same old talking points "every album is a disappointment blah blah blah". Not to mention he leaves out every important detail like how he knows Jay Electronica and why he called the station that day...

A guy has been letting you down for 11 straight years but you cried when you heard he had a ghostwriter?

Its funny and strange how much these "insiders" have hated Nas all these years. Dream Hampton is a legit journalist, but as soon as Hov is getting criticized and somebody brings up the point "how come he won't make an album like Untitled" she blurts out... "duhhh Stic Man and Jay Electronica largely wrote the album!!".

No explanation. No sources. No context. Just "largely". She has no reason to lie (other than being a 3rd degree Jigga stan, but I give her more credit than that) but shes obviously trolling...even if it was true it would be trolling...

Nobody Ghost wrote Illmatic. That was arguably his best work with It was Written which nobody ghost wrote either. Does any other album matter? He's been around for 2 decades so I'd be more surprised if no one ever ghost wrote for him.

Jay's influence can be heard on Queens Get the Money and Stic Man's influence on Sly Fox imo, but that's it. The GOAT dropping heat so ppl finding a way to hate.

You would be surprised?

This is rap elite, you don't ghostewrite for rappers like Nas and Jay period, they ghostwrite for you.

Nas i'm sure would rather take a break and not write at all than have someone ghostwrite for him, he releases albums like every 4 years for gods sake.

And she failed to answer the question why Jay can't write like them (them being Nas or Stic Man or Jay Elect)
