I think brehs need to state their stance on the goal.

Do you actually believe Kyrie's acquisition WILL mean a future championship within the next 5 years?

If not, do you actually believe Kyrie's acquisition will keep us competitive enough to provide enjoyable playoff series that'll leave lasting memories?

If not, then, do you believe that he'll be a piece that will be good to build around and the sacrifice of picks won't hurt the rebuild that will still be needed when he's here?

State your stance so brehs can't backtrack later.

I just need competitive ball. So, I want him, but I want Frank and I don't think we are being realistic about how other team offers will force is to give up the farm.

We do have the leverage in the sense that LeBron is not going to be okay with just young pieces. He wants another crack at the finals THIS YEAR.

So a Melo and incentives might be pressured to be taken by Bron if Melo is okay with it.

Melo can opt out next year too so even if LEbron leaves, he wouldn't be stick in Cleveland.

Honestly I look at Kyrie as a rebuilding piece. No, I don't think he turns the team into a contender by himself, what turns the team into a contender is his continued excellence and KP's development, and I think we're still a couple of years away from KP starting to scratch his ceiling. So what I would be hoping for is that whatever picks the Knicks trade away are lottery protected, and that the Knicks are still bad enough at the end of next year to still get a lottery pick to add to the core. If the Knicks do fall outside of the lottery though, then that means the players are becoming very good at a rapid pace, and I wouldn't miss a pick outside of the lottery all that much in that case; with a young, successful team that has room to grow, you can actually go into free agency and try to recruit someone, because unlike most seasons prior, you have something solid to sell players on. I don't want the Knicks to take two steps back just to take one step forward with Kyrie, so whether I'm happy with a trade for Kyrie and how I think it effects the rebuild depends on what the Knicks trade away, until then I can't totally judge anything.Needless to say I want this trade to happen.... just as long as the price is right.

The biggest difference between Kyrie and Melo is that Kyrie is way better a proven winner and has a ring. He knows that you need to make sacrifices to be a champion. He isn't wasting his time fronting like he getting in game shape in the summer, he is in shape all year round. He makes a better teammate than Melo ever could. He isn't selfish.
yep this nikka is going on my ignore list

Pepperoni or just cheese?

I'm no longer interested in anything you have to say basketball related.

No one in this thread actually looks forward to your posts at all.

No one.

Let's change topic so you can actually add some value.

I agree . I stopped posting because I realize most people are overvaluing potential In here. They turning down proven talent hoping we hit the lottery ,ginna fukk aroung and lose KP since we not making a effort .
It's Not that it's just that If we give up too much. We will only have KP and kyrie. I think it's best to stack assets then see who we can get but giving up multiple picks and melo and frank is too much. If it's only one pick then I say do it.

This is why I stopped posting. They could say Klay or curry or Davis wants to come to NYC and they'd say :francis: not if we have to give something up especially a draft pick the old Knicks did stupid trades involving picks for old washed up/ overrated players. A trade for a young superstar pg is a good deal and you have to give something to get something.
Idk if any generational talents are comin up in the draft but even with tanking we still could not get him or we can tank and get mediocre players . We have KP if we csn get someone to team with him also in his prime in the weak east I say do it

I would give up a pick for Klay and I think a lot of other people would too. Please don't be disingenuous.

Swine is for Melos, so I choose cheese. In hindsight Melo would be good for Cleveland, low key city , he could focus on basketball alone and maybe make a final.
