Milos Teodosic just got signed, he would've been a good option for a stop gap. I think the team should just go into the season as is right now. If you can get Marcus Smart for like a second then do it, but he's not worth Willy, Willy has quite a bit more trade value than Smart to be Frank.
Nope, tanking means losing as many games as possible for a better pick in the draft. You saw how upset people got when THJR was out there playing his ass off and the Knicks won :mjlol:
True, but I think in that instance it was a lot of frustration with the franchise spilling over in the direction of THjr because of what kind of situation the Knicks were in at the end of the year. But really, I don't want any players who think it's okay to quit in any circumstance, and in any context; that's a fatal character flaw and I wouldn't want a guy like that on my team. Tanking should fall on the front office, and they're the ones who should make the changes to personnel to make that happen.

It's interesting looking at the 95-96 Bulls team.

Only 3 players averaged double digits -
MJ - 30.4
Scottie - 19.4
Kukoc - 13.1

Defensively, they were able to hold opposing teams to 92.9 ppg while they averaged 105.2. The league average was 99.6.

I definitely understand the desire to build teams with a focus on a balanced distribution of team scoring; I just love the idea of focusing on defensively stalwarts throughout the roster and trying to develop high potency offensive players who can really be relied on to light up the game any given night.

I think with us in rebuild mode, the next lottery drafts in the coming years should be trying to get that no.1 option guard and after securing that, really honing in on our defense otherwise.

:blessed: Bring us back to glory, bball gods.
Nah, forget the basketball gods. They’ve abandoned us, we all we got #knickstape

I think Hornecek looks to push the ball with two ball handlers with KP as a trailer for a quick 3. If that doesn't work you get Willy to battle for post positioning and start working the Tryangle (but stretched out more to make shooting 3's easier) and pass out to the shooters if the shot is there for them.

It's why Phil wanted Hornecek (they both like big guards who can pass and shoot) and it would of worked more last year if Melo had any interest of posting and passing out if doubled (he in hindsight did not). Phil then got mad and wanted KP to post, but KP didn't want to do it either.

This preference for big guards who can pass and shoot is why I believe the Knicks are so cold on bringing back Rose and signing Rondo. Sheldon Mack fits what Hornecek is going to do a lot more. Smart does too and if the Knicks get a future 2020 Rockets pick in a Melo trade I could see them sending that to Ainge for Smart. The pick might turn out well, but even old Melo and CP3 along with a healthy Harden and it's a late teen pick at best unless Harden gets injured.

Edit: also Rose and Noah messed up the spacing because Noah couldn't even do a layup and Rose just gave up shooting or passing once he went into a fast break....... everything went wrong last year from a Tryangle standpoint.
