This dude is garbage and is done.

I'm a little bit more optimistic, I don't think things can get much worse.
he's finito
his best skill was his defense and rebounding. he has no lateral movement...his athleticism is done.. he's basically a liability on both ends...
literally all he can do is throw an occasional nice pass. one or twice on a good day.

Melo can probably play well enough next year to bump his rating back up a few points, but based on last year i cant say i disagree with an 84; his defense was putrid enough to drag his rating down quite a bit.

Feel like they did Melo dirty even with his defense they're giving anyone else putting up 22/7/3 an 86.

shyt, Devin Booker got an 86.

KP struggled with his shot most of the game yesterday but STILL posted a 16,10 stat-line. Dude was almost 50% from the line again and still isn't hitting his three's, but you hope it'll come with more work. On defense he was a present for the most part but Valanciunas had a third quarter sequence where KP let up and got eaten for a few possessions straight. Besides that though, KP was willing to fight and challenge; plus he was showing good rebounding skills aka dude was boxing out and getting into good positions. He got to the line 10+ times and attacked off the dribble for some highlights; mainly, a drive from the baseline three point line across the paint for a lefty hook over Valanciunas with an and-one. Basically, on a day when dude couldn't find his shot, he was still a productive centerpiece and impacted both ends...and he was matched with an NBA player most of the night.

Now Kuz was especially impressive to me. 14 points for the second leading scorer on his squad. Yall prolly saw him dunk on KP, hesitation dribble to a bee-line for the rack and jam. He actually did that a second time to a smaller forward for the exact same result. Dude showed some of the range game but mainly, he's a really good open court piece. If Hornacek's offense from Phoenix is the set up, Kuz could be a more effective piece thanks to the faster pace. Not gonna lie, I didn't focus on him defensively at all because I was all eyes on KP so I still have that skepticism on that end. It was really good to see both our guys as key players though and both thrived.

Side note too: KP plays again today and his coach wants to get the team used to the tournament schedule so he's going to give burn to the starters. KP on a back-to-back with this workload will be interesting to take a look at. I've been fiending for some damned basketball. Eurobasket scrimmages >>> Jets preseason football.
