Last time I checked, the NFL is turning a profit...A HUGE ONE AT THAT. There was a time in history when companies had profit sharing with their employees. It would have been one thing if the NFL was losing money, but they sure the fukk are not, so get the fukk outta here with that pensions destroying the country shyt. The NFL's money situation is no where near what other places are experiencing in this country. Apples and Oranges....fukk outta here.

So you want the refs to make pennies (see what pennies gets ya), while the owners make millions? Who cares if it's a second job. The refs are the best at what they do, pay them accordingly. Let's not forget how these owners are raping taxpayers getting them to pay for stadiums where the owners get most of the revenue. I swear man.....
Basically this is no different from the govt allowing "illegal" Mexicans to "sneak in" to do cheaper labor over the past 30 years.
Pay the scab refs 30K and perks, that's more than they'd ever see otherwise.......as opposed to paying the real refs $150,000 a year and pensions.
Over time, the scab refs will get good enough to cover the difference(save for afew instances like last night)......then when they start asking for more, you ditch them and bring in a new crew of sucker. That or eventually the real refs will have to cave to NFL demands.
It's a vicious cycle.

They have to stay up to date w/ rules during their spare time, and had those benefits before the lockout. Not to mention, the owners just came off a lockout which further benefits them, the refs should not voluntarily give up their benefits. Especially since the refs' expenses can be paid w/ a drop in the hat.
It's uninformed to call this a "part-time job" in the same vein as working 10 hours a week at the local diner, and it's plain stupid to claim they work 3 hours a week. Between here and SOHH I've grown too tired of enlightening people to facts they either ignore or never ever bothered to attain, so I ain't about to waste my time laying the facts out here, but I will say I'll never understand how people feel comfortable making bold assertions about who's right and who's wrong when they have no grasp of any relevant information.
Yeah, and that also means the NFL/owners are NOW saving a bunch of money in ref salary(using the scabs) in addition to trying to cut the pensions.
If you keep that in mind, I'm sure they're willing to wait a few more weeks to see if the replacement refs get better or worse. As long as another "last night" doesnt happen(and I bet they;ll make sure of that), I dont see anything changing anytime soon.

The whole "part time" officials thing is one of those coded cues Peter King and others throw around to make it seem as if the refs aren't deserving of KEEPING the benefits they already have.
There is no economic consequence or hardship the league is facing for each team spending $100K a year for their pensions.
If you can't show the economic reasons as to why this should be done, you're simply a jealous piece of shyt.

I was just about to say, do some of yall really think that the Refs don't have any responsibilities other than showing up for 3 hours on game day?
What about training sessions, film review, new rule updates, etc... What about the scrutiny, pressure & difficulty of the jobs they are doing? They should get paid their fare share according to how much the league is profitting. Even though they aren't perfect, they are probably the best officials out of all of the major sports leagues. nikkas acting like they went on strike or are asking for ridiculous raises. Like the league aint caking more now than ever before. shyt is just pure greed by the NFL, but they know they have the bull by horns and can do whatever the fukk they want. It's the American way.

I love how they bring up what other businesses are doing . Other businesses also outsourcing jobs to other countries so as not to pay a living wage or benefits.
