Just listening through again, if they wouldve released the album with that tracklist it wouldve been a 9/10 album :wow:

Tray Dee is dope on Wake Up, but Snoops part is a bit Weaker to me, dont know how you see that
Just listened to Doggyland again, Beat & snoop are both very average I think, Groupie would be the Track I wouldve most likely included if I wouldve had another Slot

thanks to the breh @1-8-7-Skillz. This is actually a decent compilation. Listening to it made me remember why Snoop was in my top 3 growing up. Perfect rapping voice. My #1 issue with the Doggfather is that the production just doesn't match Snoop's vocal brilliance. It's not terrible, but it's too pedestrian for him. Kinda works as background music, but Snoop deserves much better.

Breh, how come you didn't include Gold Rush? To me, that was far and away the best track on Doggfather. At least beat wise. After that, I'd pick Up Jumps The Boogie or Vapors.

Like ALL rappers, they live and die on a good beat.

Some of the Tracks on the retail release had kinda repetitive and/or just Boring Beats, like "Tear Em Off", "Freestyle Converation" or "Doggyland" thats why I cut those kinda Tracks out. Its true that the production Style was very different from Dres g funk sound but tracks like "Snoops Upside Ya Head", "Snoop Bounce", "2001" or "Heard It Through The Eastside" were very dope, at least to me, very raw & funky Beats that fit snoop well.

As for Gold Rush: the song is very dope, no doubt, but to me the song just didn't really fit into my tracklist & its also more of an lbc crew song to me, thats why I didn't include it. If im not mistakin it was also supposed to be on Their Album before it was shelved just like "Blueberry" and maybe also "Wake Up" which is also dope but more of a tray dee song to me, since he has two verses in their and snoops part Seems like a lil Feature here.

Whats yo opinion on the song "Too High". I always loved the song, has a really cool vibe to me and Snoop is smooth af on there as well as Daz & The Twinz who also kill it. The Atmosphere on there always kinda Reminds me of great days in school with the Homies :wow:

Appreciate your opinion as always breh. :salute:
What were your fav new songs on this version ?
To me its a shame that they never officilly released the OG version of "Doggfather", imo its a lot better than the retail one (which was also dope), those horns & shyt were amazing :ahh:
Then of course "Midnight Love", had they released this song as a Doggfather single :ohlawd::ohlawd: Still hoping to hear the version with Bad Azz if it was ever recorded.
Releasing Midnight Love, the OG Version of Doggfather & Snoops Upside Ya Head as singles wouldve been perfect

BTW:
Would be cool to get a list of all the songs producers goin, so far I got, not too sure on some of those tho:

1. Gangstaz Life: Bobcat or LT Hutton
2.Doggfather OG: Daz
3.Change Gone Come: LT Hutton, Soopafly, Snoop
4.May I: Soopafly
5.Head Doctor OG: Kurt "Kobane" Couthon
6.Eastside Party: Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis
7.Heard It Through The Eastside: DJ Pooh
8.Too High: LT Hutton
9.Midnight Love: Soopafly & Snoop
10.Vapors: Battlecat
11.Just Watchin: ??
12.Dogg Collar: LT Hutton I think
13.Keep It Real Dogg: Soopafly
14.Street Life: Daz & Soopafly on the keys I think

Snoop brought his A game to most of the posse cuts...Gold Rush, Downtown Assassins, Groupie etc...I think that maybe gave him the extra motivation he needed that maybe he didn't have on some solo tracks:yeshrug:

He still had it in him he just was way too inconsistent
