I mean when you hear tracks X carries the tracks. X made RUff Ryders hot, made Swizz hot. A lot of those beats wouldn’t have been hits without X. And a lot of X’s tracks were solely his.

no disrespect to Snoop. He was the star but he had a lot more help than X. The freestyle was amazing but shouldn’t be in the equation when it come into the battle. It’s a track for track battle.

Crossroads was definitely bigger than Cream in real time (even though they were about two years apart), but that doesn’t automatically guarantee that it will win the round in a versuz. Nelly’s biggest hits lost to much smaller songs from Luda.
Shook Ones Pt 2 didn’t chart high at all But there’s only a handful of songs that would potentially beat it in this format.

Huh? Dre found and brought him to the world when Dre was hot. And the Doggystyle sound was Dre. No disrespect to Snoop but he had Rocket fuel. DMX heated up in the streets with lots of great features and dropped a classic album without known producers.
