It's the Detox effect man no matter what happens people are going to hate. Compton was a fantastic album but still got hate.
Facto

People are over thinking it

One guy is in his 50s another in his 60s ,( almost died and had a stroke ) :francis:

When the beach boys ' eagles or all these other legacy rock acts release new music at the tail end of their careers .it don't effect their legacy ..:manny::sas2:

Rather then celebrate these 2 gettin back in the lab at this point , and lookin at it as a victory lap MFS wanna hate
..

Look , I probably won't get everything I want from the project but seeing snoop have the year he has ,
.and seeing snoop enjoying himself next to STING on stage , the other night

Says two me if he kan enjoy the moment I sure as hell ain't gonna sit here wit skrewfaxe just koz I didn't get some 2001 sounding production

Great post!!!

It is the same reason why I loved that Nas run with Hit boy..

I love to see the OGs drop music and keep it pushing it....

Miles Davis ...dropped a lot of albums past his prime and he is still one of the greatest Jazz musicians.. You take the albums you love and leave the ones you don't..

I haven't bought an album in ages.. I am definitely getting this... and not just streaming it..

Off first listen this is better than expected. The singles are weaker than most of the album, they're for crossover appeal.

Its adult contempo rap. Theres a similar vibe to Casablanco. Its not fresh or innovative music but its a polished grown up Snoop album. If you want to hear a regular gangsta rap album, theres about 20 other Snoop albums that might do the job.

As fans we all wanted certain things from a Dre & Snoop collab but Dre had goals for this in terms of appeal and reach, and showcasing his elevated production skills. And he probably achieved what he wanted. Some of these songs will end up in commercials and movies. The album will get good reviews and the songs will end up on a lot of playlists.

I called it with the singles thing. That they would probably go the Eminem route and release the lowest common denominator tracks as the singles.

Well, I don't see any difference between the singles and the other tracks, sounds mediocre at the very best

5/10 off first listen

Watching Snoop Dogg on the Cam'ron show

I've practically always said Snoop Dogg is vocally the greatest livr performing rapper, and I assume it's because he's been performing a portion of a setlist for over 30 years now. But these songs have just been completed and he has absolutely impeccable generalship over the command of each syllable and every word that he emphasizes through his performance

Literally otherworldly

The joint with Sting is hilarious, I'm glad I didn't have high hopes for this album. At least the new Eastsidaz ep is fire and Daz dropping an album in a few days.
