Doggystyle had a pun to it, Snoop was a teenager on some fukk them hoes shyt so it made sense

don't nobody wanna hear two 60 year old grown ass men do an album called Missionary:dame:

even if we leave the fruityness aside it's still the least original title ever nikkas would of been better off calling the album "Rap":francis:

It’s a “bad” title but I don’t get why people are saying it’s fruity or some homo shyt.

One word, Interscope. This album is under that label, they want commercial garbage to let the album sell.

If Dre at 60 with all the money he's made for that company and with all his own personal wealth is still under the thumb of Iovine's bytch ass then that's just sad.

You think these labels are telling Bruce Springsteen or Bob Dylan that they have to make records with Jelly Roll?

Those two are jointed to the hip still in 2024, better believe he's cashing in on him. They ''opened'' a school together. What makes you think they ain't making deals together still? The Gin N Juice drink is probably one of them too.

Hasnt Jimmy been around since forever though ? Why would he be THE problem now ?

Still have some little hope left but reality is cats be Tyson status at this point. Love both of them for the quality of the music they put out for decades but they sound uninspired and weak these days.

Place in hip hop history could NOT be more cemented though...

Dre and Snoop are not in their prime. Peoples expectations are too high.

They were never underground, they were always commercial. Its just harder to have hits the older you get, doesn't matter what genre it is. I think trying to add to their legacy, and Dre having his perfectionist approach might hurt the record.

That being said Compton is still a solid listen. If its on that level I think thats good enough for me.

At this point Dre’s best angle to get as much media attention on him would be to release a simple series of unreleased beat CD’s from his prime years.

It would generate social media buzz and artists could also licence individual beats after the fact to include in their albums.

As this Missionary album was probably, if at least partially, concocted to advertise their alcohol brand then releasing unreleased instrumentals packaged correctly, and officially, would be the move.

You'd be a terrible A&R.

I know a lot of people don't like these clips, but I love that "message in a bottle" sample. It's one of my favorite Police songs so I'm here for that. You guys are not going to get a Doggystyle 2024 album. Dre is about 60 and snoop is in his 50s. We should appreciate it for what it is. Nas isn't going to make another Illmatic as a 50 year old and Kanye's not going to make another College Dropout.
