Seriously man you need to get back on it. At least until the Yorknew arc with the Phantom Troupe
shyt is the GOAT, and no hyperbole, I'm a massive DB/Z stan so that will always be #1 because CHILDHOOD, but I can honestly say this is better and the best anime ever. If this came out (the 2011 one) during , DBZ, Naruto, Pokemon days, it be the GOAT to everyone

I've pretty much resigned myself to the fact that Togashi is probably never going to finish this manga.
Dude just doesn't seem to care about manga like that anymore. Plus he's famous enough that he has that ultra job security so he can pretty much just do what he wants.
Props to the anime team though, they chose the best possible place to end the series on.

Upping this thread cuz I finally “finished” this. Thought the anime was very good and turned out to be one of the better one’s I’ve seen. I still won’t say it’s my fav (that goes to FMA: Brotherhood which I’ll start rewatching again soon). Togashi created an amazing world and characters and hopefully this series will get a proper ending soon.
And I know I’ll most likely catch some negs for this, but I can see why it’s so hard for dudes to get into series. Say what you want, but the hunter exam art was a chore to get through. shyt was just boring at times, but I don’t mean it was trash and definitely had its moments. I stuck with it cuz everybody says it will get better and it did, just not as early as folks said it would for me. I honestly didn’t get fully invested into this anime until the ant arc, and that’s cuz the tone changed completely cuz it felt like the goal was survival compared to the earlier arcs where the stakes weren’t that high imo. I couldn’t wait to see what would happen next which wasn’t happening earlier in the series for me. Yorknew City arc did that for me at times, but I feel like dudes overate that one cuz it was the first time we see some brutal shyt other than Killua stepping it up earlier. I think other anime’s have desensitized me when it comes to the violence and 
moments. Also Gon’s dad seems cool, but is one of the GOAT scumbags of all time

Also forgot to add that I felt like they could’ve done much more with the Phantom Troupe leader. Probably one of the reasons that arc lost points with me. And the Ant king is one of better written villains I’ve seen in anime. Caught me off guard. His one guardsman was extremely annoying tho
