I really doubt this will ever happen

Wrestling games ain't getting no remakes. They gotta get old music, in touch with old wrestlers/some of them nikkas dead anyway. Really doubt theyd see it as worth it
Breh they’re not using old wrestlers obviously, it would be a updated roster :skip:

HCTP is THE GOAT wrestling game. Fire Pro is extremely overrated. Deep customization but the actual controls and gameplay were buttcheeks. HCTP had the deepest roster with a lot of guys still at their peak abilities, deep customization, full themes, every match type possible, a very lengthy season mode, all types of moves, and great controls before they pulled a Madden and made the games “more realistic” (aka slowing everything down and sucking the fun out of it) like they did after SVR 2008. And as great as HCTP was, it would’ve been even greater had they had GM mode like they did in SVR 06 (another great game, but that roster was fairly outdated despite it being deep as well). GM Mode with the HCTP roster would have been incredible.

Also, I think HCTP was the last game in the series where they had specific move names differentiated by the person, like Undertaker Chokeslam 1, Stone Cold Stunner 2, Kane Powerbomb, Flowing DDT (cause Raven wasn’t there anymore), Pulling Piledriver (Mankind) etc. After HCTP, it was just Chokeslam 1,2,3,4, etc :mjlol:

Don't even. HCTP was great but WWF No Mercy is the GOAT wrestling game and there is no room for debate.

The Swamp
The whole thing that made HTCP great was the roster. It was made at the time where the WWE roster was loaded with all the big name ex-WCW talent and still had the big name WWF talent with the future stars too (i.e., Cena, Lesnar and Orton). If they're gonna remake this game with the current roster & HTCP gameplay, no thanks :francis:

Sounds like they used it as inspiration.

Yeah, I'm not entirely sure where people decided to run with them remaking it. Sometime last year, Yukes said they wanted to make another wrestling game to essentially keep themselves sharp. This is probably them workshopping gameplay ideas. Best y'all are getting is a new game that borrows some of the concepts of HCTP.
