I didnt say it was common but it happens, especially depending on the varsity team, why have some who wont see much playing time on varsity just ride the bench when they can start JV

where I live its common to have the backup varsity players start on JV to improve their skills and get real life action

AND THATS my point. why SIT on a Varsity bench just to say "see me, i'm wearing a varsity jersey, i hang with the varsity team" but you gets NO time. barely garbage time. 2 people have to go down at your same position for the coach to even look your way. technically speaking you're not at varsity level ability wise. you're there as a just in case situation. nothing more.everything less.

Because you won't get better by playing against JV players. You get better by practicing against the best. That's the reason the Warriors never send their 1st round picks to the D-League.

Some JV teams are really good. Would kill some varsity teams. Just depends on your region and school.

It's understandable if you're a freshman or sophomore trying to get PT so you join the JV team.

But as a junior? If you want to play bball so bad quit the team, buy your own ball, and find the nearest pickup game because the dream's over bruh.

Festus Ezeli couldn't make his high school team and he's in the nba. But yeah you're right, odds are it's over.

I didn't even know, you were allowed to play JV after your Sophomore year.

i guess it depends on the school rules and all that other shyt.

junior as jv nothing wrong with that, i knew one nikkka who was a senior and played jv. his 5th year in high school they let son walk on for the last roster spot on varsity.

there were a few freshman who played modified football and not jv because of their age.

At my HS the varsity nikkas got all the puss. That's why I made damn sure I made the varsity team asap. Made it as a sophmore :lift: no way I would've been able to walk around campus with a JV jersey as a Junior. I needed that letterman jacket to shine properly.

Those broads will walk up to you real quick while you at your locker to tell you good game. :russ:

This. When a freshman or sophomore was good enough to make varsity but not good enough to play regularly, it was usually a mutual decision of the coaches and the player to just ball out at the lower level until junior year.

There was a dumbfukk at my school that wrestled at the JV level when he was a senior but I didn't know of anyone that played a real sport at the JV level. Even though it's allowed, that's 100 times worse than just getting cut and keepin it moving.
