I’m almost out of my pixi glow tonic so I decided to pick up yes to tomatoes cleansing water to try. I’m excited cuz Ulta had it on sale for $4.50 for a 7oz bottle!

How did you like it?
I like it a lot. My skin is pretty normal (not overly dry or oily), so I don't need a heavy moisturizer, and the Korean aqua/water bombs work well for me.

I do a modified version of the Korean skin care process, and my skin hasn't looked better (it was never "bad", but I had some texture issues).

I wanna try that SK II but my budget won't allow another pricey product especially since I've committed to Sunday Riley. I heard its supposed to be very good.

It's okay, nothing mind blowing though. At least, it wasn't to me. Results may vary, but it didn't do a whole lot for me, and I used it for 12 weeks to make sure I gave it enough time to take effect. For the price point, I better have the clearest, baby bottomest skin imaginable, and it was just "eh".

Peels are the quickest way for encouraging that cell turnover, though. I do them to help with texture/pores and for aging prevention. I'm almost 40, yet most (non-Black) people don't believe me when I tell them my age.

Peels (and following a modified Korean beauty skin routine) have made my skin the best it's been in years.
What’s your skincare routine?

What’s your skincare routine?
  1. Oil cleanser/Micellar water (day & night)
  2. Foam cleanser/Cetaphil (day & night)
  3. Pre-toner (day & night)
  4. Exfoliator (every other day - massage at least 1 min)
  5. Clay mask/Gel mask (night - leave on 20 min)
  6. Toner (day & night)
  7. Essence (day & night - pat into face)
  8. Serum/booster/ampoules (day & night)
  9. Sheet mask (night - alternate w/clay or gel [don't use both on same day]; leave on 20 min)
  10. Eye Cream (day & night)
  11. Moisturizer/Face cream (day & night)
  12. SPF (day)
I'll also throw in a light peel every 3-4 weeks as needed. I take pictures of my skin every 2-3 months to get a snapshot of what my skin is looking like and to make it easier to spot any changes.

It's hard to notice changes when you're looking at your face everyday, so having pictures at different intervals makes it easier to see any changes that may have occurred, see if your products are actually working, and gives you an idea of whether something in your routine needs to change.

Anyone a straight haired "natural'. Had to mini chop again because of the amount of the amount of single strand knots. I'm back at collarbone length. The only thing that used to work for me when I was younger is keeping my hair stretched. Trying to be a heat trained natural now.

Yep. I wear my hair straight all the time. Straighten every two weeks, I have "heat damage" in the form of some curl pattern loss, but no breakage and I don't wear my hair curly anymore so I don't really care. I was using the Nume flat iron to straighten my hair but I wanna try out a old school Marcel flat iron next time to do a silk press.

I really need help with finding a hair moisture for my daughter. She has my dry hair, but her mother's texture. Long straight hair with a bit of waviness to it.

We were originally washing her hair everyday, had to cut that out. Now every other day . Better but still dry. Currently using just coconut oil for moisture... But it evaporate/absorbs too quickly. Used Shea Moisture products in the past but they appear to be a bit too sticky.

Any suggestions? Gonna cop some Camille Rose this evening and try that.

Help!:damn:

Yeah it’s not heat damage if there’s no breakage, so you are good. I think it’s just curl relaxing or what not. How do you go about maintaining length and what’s your whole silk press regimen. I need a new look so I think imma keep my hair straight for now on...

Right now I use Matrix Biolage shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair and then deep condition with Olapex #2. Then I use L'Oreal Sleek it Straight heat protectant, I use the conair 3-in-1 styling hair dryer with the comb attachment and then straighten my hair with the Nume 1 inch iron. I'm about to switch up my regimen though with the Marcel iron and then I'm going to try out the glamtwinz straight hair routine. Their routine involves way more products but people on youtube have followed their routine and gotten good results so I'm going to try it out.
As far as maintaining length, honestly it's just genetics for me, I can go a month without moisturizing my hair with no problems, however I do take MSM powder supplement daily which I feel has helped my hair grow.
