Everyone’s hair is different. Therefore your locs will be unique to your hair texture. There isn’t much you need to do other than let you hair grow. You should research different kinds of locs and decide which route you want to take. Figure out what size you want. Find a good Loctician or teach yourself to retest. Good luck!

I ordered a thing of my custom foundation from Lancôme, paid $75 instead of $90 for it. Now my BF won’t be getting me makeup for Xmas, I have more than enough.

How yall get the dandruff off your locs? i just started the process about a month ago , and
i was told not to wash it in the meantime. So , it only gets washed once a month when i go back to the salon.

Hello fellow loc sisters :hug:I’m five months into my journey. Any tips for your girl? Styles, YouTube channels, products?

1. Deep condition. My locs are 2" from my butt and lifted but I have no thinning. Locs need the same love loose hair needs.
2. Instead of using gel use foam. Your retwist will stay longer and it doesn't cause build up
3. Try not to do too many styles. It causes breakage
4. It is okay to retwist whenever you want as long as you don't do it tight. People who say to wait are the same people retweeting tight as hell and be the same ones who end up with bald spots. I have retwisted my hair every 2 weeks for years. I do just enough to make it neat and make sure there isn't even the tightest pull. Granted you won't end up with the smoothest loc but you will get a fuller loc.
5. Get an extra small crochet needle. It's a great way to make locs neat.

Thank you! 9 months in now. I’ve never loc’ed my hair; I always go to the loctician who started me off once a month. How do I go about learning how to retest my hair on my own? Also, I asked my loctician about conditioning and she said it wasn’t necessary. Right or wrong?

You need a new stylist. The flakes are from excessive products. Hair should be washed every 2 weeks and helps you hair loc. I'm telling you now to find someone more qualified or you'll regret it years down the road. You should not flakes in your locs especially new locs.

I personally deep condition. There is a reason some people have beautiful locs down to their butt and others are dry and breaking and it is because of moisture.

Retwisting is so simple. You just palm roll and use some clips so that it dries. Super easy.

Check out Damien Walters on YouTube. I learned everything I know watching his videos.

So I signed up for a few modeling gigs over the past couple of weeks, starting with a blowout at a newish salon, came out really nice and an eye makeup this morning out in Brooklyn. She asked if it was okay to pass along my info to her fellow stylists for hair as well, I'm happy to do it. Can't wait! Unsee — Free online private photos sharing
