You can get one without paying that much had been pretty much my point.

I just don't like big salaries for TE. I'd they can block good, be that wide open guy on 3rd down. We good.

I get you don't value TE personally but this offense does not work with out a good pass catching TE and specifically Kittle is the best TE in the league by a margin and he has been the most consistent offensive player in the team since he has been drafted. If anything we should be using him like Kelce at this point in his career and let the other TE handle the blocking.

Seriously. I know he’s a valuable blocker but they can still WAY lessen the load and get more miles out of him.

:dahell:
whom?
taking a division rival's former OLineman always felt dumb to me. If there's anyone that's gonna know their weaknesses and ways to exploit them, it'd be the team he came from.

But at this point I'd take a literal stationary object over McKivitz.
Can’t be any worse

they cant really replace him...in order to replace him they need to draft a TE earlier...which in itself is a gamble

a lot of folks might not wanna hear it but Kittle is getting close to a borderline HoF :manny:

Aside from Gronk, he got to be the best TE the past 10-15 years far as being an elite receiving threat and blocker at the same time. Dude's a beast and def a HOFer.

I don't like the contract because he getting old and always been kinda injury prone. But also wasn't much of a choice especially after how much they lost. Him and Warner really been the cornerstones for this regime. Not just in production but in leadership and identity.

DJ Humphries was an overdrafted 2015 1st round pick who Bruce Arians had to essentially threaten to cut because he was so soft and lazy. He also tore his ACL in 2023 so there is that. But beggars can't be choosers and we now have if nothing else a back up meat shield.

You don't spend that kind of money on a player in the downside of his career. Especially ones that are guaranteed to have an up to five game vacation. You trade him for picks.

This one of the many reasons why the Niners went get over the hump. Keep doing dumb ass contacts. Along with having a retarded goofy ass coach. It's a recipe for disaster

He's been pretty healthy more often than not and he's not really showing signs of slowing down. He has at least 2-3 good years left.
