Well with Myles Garrett off the board. Joey Bosa is the 2nd best pass rusher available. As long as the contract doesn't keep us from adding depth pieces it's not the end of the world.

The other thing is Bosa only costs us money and not picks.

Yeah, and if this rumor is true shyt is getting even more puzzling

:what: the fukk are we doing

dumb shyt. SF is doing dumb shyt.
that said, Maliek was getting PAID for what he provided.

Seems obvious the team is going DLine high again this year despite OLine being a horrorshow.

theres no doubt theyre drafting dlinemen over olinemen this draft.

this draft sucks for tackles and they never drafted an interior lineman too high

We are cutting the fat. This year free agency is flush with Maliek Collins types who are willing to sign with us for peanuts. We have 12 draft picks this year, expect 3 or 4 to be defensive linemen. I actually love it. Back to basics.

I dont know if that makes sense. they not saving any money by cutting him now and if its post june they only saving 4m

collins was pretty good for us last year and Idk if any other dlineman in free agency are better than him, and they certainly would cost more on the cap

I think part the reason is the Yorks are cash strapped and want to diversify their portfolio. The Yorks have thrown around an uncomfortable amount of money and couldn't come out of it with a ring.I think long term they (Yorks) want to take more measured approaches financially.

I also think what's happening is since they are paying the coaching staff as handsomely as they are they are going to have to maximize their scheming as opposed to having so many highly paid, older players who may or may not get hurt.

I just want all of us to agree we ain't competing for shyt in the next 2 seasons, at the very least.

We basically are taking all the hits imaginable for 2025 and making all the space possible so 2026 fits Brock's contract AND there's enough room to pursue starter caliber free agents.

This roster had enough holes at it was and we now have even more holes than before, it's not gonna be a quick turnaround even if this year's draft is a hit (3-4 legit starters). We gonna need three consecutive good draft classes (24', 25' and 26') and be smart in free agency next year to have a shot at a quick rebuild.

Last year's disastrous offseason was probably the beginning of the end:unimpressed:

They got to kill the draft this year and next. Management already punting on this season so it's or die in 2026. But it's hard to see this team ever winning anything with Brock getting $50M a year. We gonna look back on 2023 like 2012, everything lined up perfectly and still couldn't get it done :francis:

Yea. We need to step back. This is not a Super Bowl roster. I won't say it's a rebuild per se but a re-balancing. We're going to have our ups and downs but the roster as it stands is too top heavy and getting old. We need to get younger, faster and quite frankly more hungry and it's clear that's the goal. Basically they are treating Kyle Shanahan like an obese child and locking the refrigerator and sending him to fat camp.

Hot take but I think they play hardball on Purdy's contract, either take the deal, tell him to play out his rookie contract and if he can statistically land somewhere between 2023 and 2024 numbers they give him the bag, or just trade him.

When Schefter talked about the franchise tag numbers it seemed to me that was going to be Lynch's strategy with Brock.

I wouldn't hate trading him prior to the draft if they can get a first rounder for him. I like Brock a lot, would take him over dudes like Dak and Cousins any day, but he won't win a championship without an elite roster. And that ain't happening with him taking up 20% of the cap.
