Everyone here needs to get nice and comfortable with the idea that there ain't enough money to go around anymore. The QB contract is here now so there needs to be some hard cuts, maybe a few trades, and some feelings are going to get hurt.

I actually don't think this is true. It's not how it's played out for other teams who have given their QB top money, and we already have all the key guys under contract until they've aged past another big deal. Since we gave Demo his money we don't have anyone coming due for a big money long-term contract on the roster right now other than maybe JJ if he balls out again next year, but with Aiyuk and Pearsall that contract shouldn't be necessary. We need to focus on drafting to backfill the older guys when they retire or move on, not making splash FA acquisitions.

The contract will look dumb when he signs it but a few years from now a bunch of QBs will surpass it. It is what it is. Gotta pay a premium for solid QB play.

Bucs are getting more than solid QB play from Baker Mayfield who's making 33 mill a year.

Apples to oranges. Baker is 29 years old on his 4th contract after being traded once and cut twice. The Bucs originally signed him for 1yr/4M and he is currently playing at peak career performance. Purdy's play last year was better than Baker's this year, and if Baker continues to play at this current level he will be in for a top 5 contract as well.

These are the QBs who we could try and "Baker": 2025 NFL Free Agents

So unless you want to see Zach Wilson, Trey Lance, Drew Lock, Mac Jones or Mason Rudolph start at QB for us and try to surpass Brock's production and win us a SB, we should give Brock the contract.

Hmm I don't evens see what the issue is with giving Brock that money. He's already proven he's a big time QB. Considering the shytty play calling, O line and multiple injuries to stars, he looked pretty good this season overall.

You maybe too young, but you ever heard of Kerry Collins? That's Sam right now. One hit wonder. Defenses are already adjusting to his bum ass. He had that run because he has one of the best WRs in the game. Even Addison is a baller.
