There were rumblings that Brian Griese wanted to go back to the booth as the schedule was less strenuous. Sad to see him go as I thought he did great with Brock Purdy and he and not Kyle should lion's share of the credit for rehabbing Sam Darnold.
Yeah, that would mean giving up on contending for the next two seasons and just trying to get lucky with the draft until cap space clears out in 2027. After seeing how much fukking money getting rid of Deebo means for the 2026 season (which is when Brock's new contract would start as well), there's no way we doing it with Aiyuk too.
Moving Deebo gonna look like a crazy decision if CMC is washed.
Kyle's offense don't work lately without at least one of them able to be that move piece. Move him and you're looking at needing to be an 'offensive genius' while using the same setup as the rest of the league has. WRs who are WRs. RBs who are RBs. never shall the two meet.
I'm interested to see if Kyle is actually who they claim he is. Because his successes have actually come from exceptional mismatch talent and not exceptional scheme, ESPECIALLY in the passing offense. The dropback game is outdated and has been making due because Brock's mental game plays 2 seconds ahead of the physical game, and the team has had freak athletes in key positions.
Last few drafts been dogshyt offensively.
There is no talent waiting in the wings. It has to be developed; and the scheme has to be adjusted.
Kyle's Aspergic ass don't like to change from what he likes doing. What's gonna give first?
Or are we gonna be having Chris Conley running WR backfield handoffs designed for Deebo again? Because I didn't like them negative yard plays and would rather he stopped installing them once there's no one to run them.
bring CMC back as a slot WR and use him exactly how they used Deebo. Jauan and Pearsall out wide until Aiyuk's back. Feature Guerendo and Mason running duo. Option CMC occasionally, and ramp those up to ease him back to RB while still getting production from him on the field. He wasn't fast enough to get the explosive runs the team needs before the injury. doubtful getting hurt added speed.
The dead money was huge cutting him as well. The fact we were willing to depart this easily with him considering what it will mean for the cap is still kinda baffling to me.
