I was able to avoid seeing this show until this week when my sister was over and wanted to watch.

shyt was cringe worthy lol especially them recording the song in prison. I can't (well I can) believe this is what people were hyping up.

I didn't cringe but I just laughed I thought they were doing a parody of one of these free ______ nikka movements in the past 5 years that should not have occurred because they knew _____ was guilty as fukk

We always try to bring "oppression" and "reparations" into arguments when defending nikkas who clearly break the law.

On a side note: Lee Daniels isn't even the main director, he's just a supervising producer. Danny Strong, who is white, is the co-creator, producer, and director, and the show runner is a lesbian white woman. They merely employ black people.

Yep sista Lee c00n Daniels is what we call a figure head. He is just a black puppet used to get black folks to think it is a black show. Plus his c00n ass keeps the heat off the white folks when stereotypes are thrown around on the show.

Empire is basically a pop-culture laden money grab that can err on the side of buffoonery for sure, but it would be disingenuous of me to say that I haven't watched it. I stream episodes from time to time with my girl because it has an entertainment value to it, but that's about it. Actually having discussions on social media about it or even worse, attending viewing parties is a bit over the top though.

On the other hand, while there are a lot of tropes and themes that can be seen as stereotypical in the show, the 1st season did a good job of employing black directors. Out of 12 episodes that aired in the first season, 8 were directed by black directors. I doubt you can find many shows in Hollywoood that employ black directors at that rate.

Same can be said for video games, and movies. This video is nothing more than self righteous preaching. Yall are so easily impressed its almost funny. Of course there are some people that are overzealous about the show, but for most its just a 1 hour break from reality.
