List of police reforms related to the George Floyd protests - Wikipedia

fukk i dont even live in america anymore and i got it within seconds, and that neck choke hold is now banned. will cops still be bytches, of course, but their are laws now, and we shall see how this trial goes. i predict, conviction. no way the jury is going to let this slide, cause everyone was pissed and saw how dark that was.

Above the fray.
We all saw what happened with George Floyd ( R.I.P) we also witnessed how far the police are willing to take things . My question is these protests went on for 2-3 months , what have we achieved since then ?

how do we prevent this from happening again ?

for example:
We saw what happened in Buffalo when 2 cops pushed an elderly man , which resulted in his head hitting the concrete . To me it seems like everything that happened this past summer during us protesting against police brutality is being swept under the rug again .

Police reform laws were passed in New Jersey.

Those who really care about the issue have tracked local and state progress in the areas where they are from. Problem is that many don't care enough to monitor changes much less ACTIVELY fight for change. Emotional reaction and then fall back asleep and complain about lack of progress.

*For the record, you mentioned Buffalo,NY and police reform measures have passed there also

Example Arkansas

Governor Asa Hutchinsonsigned an executive order to create a police task force to “deal with police training, certification, and standards.”

Well one of the problems is that these activists will jump on these police shootings when they happen but then go quiet as soon as the hype dies down. Soon as some shyt happens, you have hundreds of people marching then later when it dies down, you have 50, then 10, etc. Then people start looking at them crazy like why are you out here? Also, the police unions, FOI, etc will never go against their cops period! You have to change this. Cops go into these city council meetings when the hype dies down and beg for more money to pay their cops or try to get more cops for their departments and usually get what they want. The problem is that a lot of folks stop paying attention after the hype dies down.

that’s my thing people have short attention span , and this is why so much stuff get swept under the rug . I figured after May a lot more young individuals would pay attention to their state representative and council . And I figured by now on a federal level that the Government would do something about the police unions , but naw nothing they will literally strong arm anyone .

police unions are the reason why we have so many deeply rooted issues , those cops know no matter what happens the unions will go to bat for them . The lawsuits have to start coming out of the union pension

Everyone was a political activist during that time , soon as shyt calmed down everyone went on their separate ways , I’ve peeped game it was the perfect time for a political party to use this movement & our pain as a gain.

yea I’m starting to become immune to it , but at this rate I can’t see myself raising kids in this country . shyt just isn’t meant for us .

and i could go thru biden and kamala's speeches and their executive orders but that takes time, and im on a freakin messageboard, not at the dinner table with my fam, chill.
