That wiki link is about NYC in general. By the time I was coming up, there weren't enough WI's in Harlem to notice. Ex/ when Shabba came out, nobody knew wtf it was and ppl were asking if you know how to 'dance Jamaican'. Clearly not a lot of WI influence.
Everyone knows Harlem is an AA neighborhood and I never said otherwise. My whole point is that Caribbean people have been coming to the US since the early 1900s. You can even research labor day Parade and how the first carnival was in harlem NOT Brooklyn
