Something really dope attention to detail mechanically that I like in this game is how most of your special moves even has context, situational purposes that changes based on how you're chaining them together, your/enemy positioning, weapon type using, etc. For example, your forward, forward triangle button move, it's basically a lunging front kick normal, but you can apply it to weapons as well and the animation can differ greatly on which weapon your using that still, but still applies the desired property of a lunging, strong attack. Same with the sweep. Instead of it just being the kick to the outer knee area, if you have a bat, you'll swing the bag a muhfukkas legs. It just all comes together so damn good.
