most properties don’t depreciate, but there’s always gonna be inflation, so they charge more to keep up with their rising expenses.

Property appreciation doesn't offset inflation? Landlords expect people to constantly have 2-5% more income every year?

Last time that happened to us, we said fukk it we buying a house

The townhouse we lived in was gonna cost $200 more than what we paying now for our mortgage.
:hhh:

Annnnd them mffers charged us $75 every time they had to come fix something

:mindblown: What state are you in? Regardless i can tell you what they did was 100% illegal even if it was stated on the lease. You don't own that property and are not responsible for its upkeep.

I once had an issue where my landlord tried to keep my security deposit and ask for extra too repaint the walls, replace the carpet and clean some air vents. We were in the apartment for almost 2 years. Spoke to a lawyer breh sent her a letter stating that Tenants aren't responsible for normal wear and tear and in Florida landlords are supposed to repaint walls and clean carpet for every new tenet.

She wanted to fight it so we scheduled a case with small claims court. bytch sent me my deposit the next day. She was shook.

I’m in Florida as well. I guess I paid for my ignorance :manny: actually glad it happened because it motivated us to get a house

Nah it was total BS, because we hired a company to clean the carpet a day before we moved in ( we always did this) and it was obvious that the landlord didn’t get it cleaned just because of the difference in color :gag:

We were going back and forth about until we were like fukk it $200, we got the other $1600 back. Left a note in one of the light fixtures (also a problem, the bulbs for some reason would go out 3-4 times a year...even the led ones) telling the next tenants to buy bulbs in bulk because they’re gonna need it. I put a new bulb in before we left so they wouldn’t check:lolbron:.

and we also left a horrible review.

such a shame because it really was a beautiful place

Terrible.

The landlord was supposed to clean the carpet before you moved in. She/he is a con artist. I’m glad you moved from there.

U gotta family? Why buy property to be stuck somewhere at a young age
nope, i dont have one. I could honestly put down money for a house now if i wanted.

Why would i not buy property if I have the money for it? as someone who has grown up in public housing my whole life and moved out at 19 renting is WOAT. crappy landlords, crappy flatmates rent increase and no matter how much rent you pay or how long you have lived in a property you will NEVER own it.

Because you won’t be stuck there. I’m in the same situation. Like I can buy property but it doesn’t reflect my lifestyle. Don’t have kids and not looking to settle and property flipping is never guaranteed. I’ve rented and had roommates in the past, I’ve had fond and bad memories w/ them so I know the game. Just wanted insight on why you think that way. I feel like I could move around renting(maybe for a couple of years, no longer than 3) before I want to own some property. Mortgage gets increased as well
