Shyne was my favorite rapper in his time

and he went from extremely nihilistic street music, like Pac, to pretty conscious "gangster rap", likely because of his case, but songs like Diamonds And Mac 10's reflected growth in his music and thoughts already, at like age 20, he just had to do that 10 years. Most of his debut was recorded when he was between 19 and 20.

but his story really is inspiring. Remember like around 2/10 when he was on some Khaled album, and I was all excited, and the song was just unlistenable. To tie this to the BG thread, no artist comes back after 15 years gone and is some musical genius. Their lives have been forever altered, and Shyne was just able to pivot and move forward, of course because of his families deep political connections.

I just hope it’s genuine. Years after he got released and was on his Judaism, he was still heavy heavy ridin the 5 and claiming and talking brollic, etc… Not saying it’s not real…just saying, I want it to be real and hope he really changed his life up.

I had like a 45 minute back and forth with him on Twitter like 10 years ago about that tough shyt being lame and how I done way more criminal shyt than him and can post and verify it all for him and I still think it’s lame…and he was retorting with “gangsters are great!!!” energy, gangsters are good people with ethics and all that stupid shyt. Might still be on his shyt lol. Salute to him tho…and super salute for being able to come back to the states after getting dipped, I know that felt great
