it was ralphie's time.
his undermining of tony was only third to richie (biggest dirtbag in tv history), and tony b. plus tony always felt kinda threatened by ralphie's captain swag. even if we all knew he'd never be THE boss, he was refined...bosslike in that manner. the rest of them dudes around tony's age were just meathead soldiers. ralphie put on that ascot at them sit downs and politik'd like a boss. only sil commanded more respect in that manner and he was old.

Even with all that said, The fact remains that Tony still did not visit Ralph's house that day with the intentions of killing him. Setting him straight? Yes, smacking him around a lil bit, maybe.
Why do yal insist on believing that this was some cold calculated hit that he's been planning for weeks? He would not have killed him over the horse, (did he kill him over the stripper?) but he definitely deserve to have hands on him after doing something like that.....he should have just took the slapping and he'd still be alive.
That's what I have a hard time comprehending....... It's obvious that the entire situation was a spur of the moment thing.

im not saying he had it planned, but watching it play out from week to week, i felt it was a matter of time before ralphie was offed and for the reasons i listed. that visit and the conversation about the horse was tony's breakingpoint or justification to confront & start a confrontation w/ ralphie which...resulted in his death.

Ralph wouldn't have died had he just sat there and accepted the slapping from the boss......the same sh1t happened a season before and everything was fine after.
It was much more trouble to have him killed than it was to keep him alive. Tony didn't want to be bothered with all that sh1t that happens afterward, chopping up the body, cleaning up blood, burying it, lying about Ralph's whereabouts and hoping that Christopher's drug addict ass wouldn't sn1tch on him for a bag of coke etc...
The easier thing to do would have been to just slap him around, set him straight and allow him to live. Which were his intentions

1) thats one of the underlying themes of this show; men, their egos and how much theyre willing to take. the biggest p*ssy (no big p*ssy) on this show was bobby and even he had his boiling point and confronted tony. tony's thing was pushing buttons. he trolled ralphie and pushed his buttons on this visit mainly because he was growing tired of him and the last straw was when ralphie didnt back down from his a$$hole tirade.
2) i just said i didnt think he had it planned, so if you wanna be a shythead and ignore it because you have a point you want to make whether it applies or not, have at it.
